Kiew Mun Kiat, 43, was fined RM30,000 by the Ampang Sessions Court after pleading guilty to brutally beating his pet dog, Lucky, with a wooden stick and rubber hose. The incident, which occurred on July 31 at his home in Pandan Indah, was recorded by a resident and went viral on social media. The court ordered the dog forfeited for adoption through the Selangor Veterinary Services Department. A veterinary exam found injuries on the dog’s leg. Prosecutors urged a stern sentence, citing public interest. Kiew, unrepresented, claimed he was disciplining the dog after it bit him. He paid the fine.
