Almost half of Malaysians do not have savings to pay medical expenses Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz who also said the Lindung scheme allows people to buy ‘insurance’ plans at a lower price.
Promoting the Lindung scheme, he says this may cost a few ringgit a month. However, we can ask if the people do not have savings for health services where do they get cash to buy an insurance cover?
While the minister did not elaborate on these matters of great concern to the people, he said even the elderly are unable to meet their basic needs in medical costs.
He added, if the elderly are unable to meet their basic needs especially in covering medical costs, it will add up the cost to the government and taxpayers in the future.
