Veteran actress and singer Amy Mastura, 53, shared her perspective on polygamy, highlighting the importance of faith and acceptance in relationships. Speaking at a press event for her new drama Berbahagi Suami, Amy noted that while losing a partner is painful, understanding that everything belongs to God can bring peace. Reflecting on her 24-year marriage to Alvin Tham Suffian, she emphasized transparency and mutual respect in sustaining a relationship. “We don’t own anything in this world, not even our life partners. “Everything ultimately belongs to God, including our husbands. If we believe we ‘own’ them, it becomes harder to let go when the time comes,” she told Berita Harian. Amy credited her faith for bringing harmony to her family life, which includes two daughters, Adriana, 23, and Adalia, 20. In June, the family strengthened their bond by performing the Hajj together.
