This is a topic that is not frequently discussed among most people. Many would typically think that a ride on a ship from coast to coast is smooth and sunny. However, there are a number of times, even in our modern world, where a ship is caught in an unpredictable storm. The ocean waves would look like they’re from a nightmare.
The angry ocean
There are several videos on YouTube and TikTok regarding the angry ocean. Netizens state that they would be more scared than ever if they were ever on a ship to witness this. There are times where even a large cruise can be shaken violently with these waves.
Rogue waves
Rogue waves are also a common problem for ships in the sea. Prior to the 20th century, not many discussed this phenomenon. Even in the late 70s, scientists stated that these waves would only happen once every 10,000 years. Unfortunately, it is significantly more frequent than this.
It could probably be the fact that prior to the 20th century, sailors would probably not even survive these rogue waves, hence with the lack of knowledge regarding its existence.
