DOHA: A Qatari military helicopter crashed in the Gulf state’s waters early Sunday after suffering a technical malfunction, according to the defence ministry. The aircraft went down during routine duty, prompting immediate search operations for its crew and passengers. Authorities confirms six dead and is still searching for a last occupant of the chopper.

The interior ministry confirmed that several specialised teams have been deployed to assist in the rescue efforts. Authorities have not disclosed the helicopter’s flight path or the number of people on board.
