KUALA LUMPUR, 14 January 2025 – Former 1MDB CEO Arul Kanda Kandasamy told the High Court he had no personal knowledge of company funds being used to purchase jewelry worth USD 1.3 million for Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

When questioned by 1MDB’s lawyer, Raphael Kok, about a 2017 U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) complaint, Arul acknowledged the claims in the document but denied firsthand awareness.
1MDB is suing Arul and ex-chairman Tan Sri Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah for USD 6.59 billion, alleging mismanagement and conspiracy leading to substantial financial losses. The trial continues tomorrow.
