A fundraising campaign for five-month-old Singaporean baby Ginny, diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1, has successfully reached its S$2.4 million target. As of March 21, a total of 35,544 donors contributed to the cause. Ginny’s parents, Jenny and Quan, announced that they are now coordinating with the hospital to begin treatment.

The funds will cover Zolgensma, a gene-replacement therapy considered the world’s most expensive drug. Without treatment, SMA Type 1 patients rarely survive beyond early childhood.
