Boris Johnson: UK Would Work With Taliban If ‘necessary’

1 min read

UK PM Boris Johnson says he would work with the Taliban if necessary to “find a solution” for Afghanistan. Britain was part of the armed forces from various countries that invaded Afghanistan in 2001 to remove the Taliban from power.

The Taliban waited 20 years and a US pullout of troops from the country to recapture the entire nation within weeks.

Johnson says he wanted to assure people that “political and diplomatic efforts to find a solution for Afghanistan” will continue, including “working with the Taliban, of course, if necessary”.
