24-Year-Old Borrowed Money from 16 “AH LONGS” Just to Make Rent

1 min read

Netizens are now criticising a 24-year-old girl for borrowing money from 16 separate “ah longs” she met on social media to cover her rent. She thought they were licensed loan institutions, but when she met with the weekly payments and rising interest rates, it became a completely different story.

Girl borrowed money from 16 “ah longs”

X users are unimpressed with the girl borrowing money just to make rent. Furthermore, many recommended that she get a more affordable apartment instead. The amount she owes them amounts to RM32,000.

Netizens hope that if she does get financial help to repay these loan sharks, she should repay the institution that helped her.

However, there are others who defended her citing that she is fatherless and is desperate to have a roof over her head. Netizens responded by saying that she could still find a more affordable rental location, or she could just simply rent a room.
