PETALING JAYA, Aug 17— The Cabinet has decided to act firmly against “irresponsible politicians” stoking tensions over the recent Jalur Gemilang controversy, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Chang Lih Kang said.

He noted Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and other ministers were concerned the issue could dampen National Day spirit. Referring to Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh’s protest at a Penang hardware shop, Chang said such actions amounted to bullying and urged politicians to respect the rule of law instead of disrupting businesses.
