KUALA LUMPUR: Pressure is growing on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to take a leave of absence ahead of his upcoming civil trial involving sexual misconduct allegations. PAS Youth Chief Afnan Hamimi and PAS Information Chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari said Anwar must temporarily step aside to preserve the integrity of the Prime Minister’s office and avoid executive interference in the judiciary. They stressed that the June 16 proceedings are not minor and pose reputational risks domestically and abroad. Both leaders proposed a Deputy Prime Minister assume duties to ensure governance continues smoothly during the legal process.
