Pressure is mounting on the government to conduct a proper investigation into the MACC following allegations that officers colluded with private individuals to target business rivals. The Malaysian Bar has urged a “credible probe”, while Suhakam supports establishing a Royal Commission of Inquiry, recommending former chief justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat to lead it.

So far, the government has not addressed the misconduct claims, with Attorney‑General Dusuki Mokhtar’s probe focusing only on MACC chief Azam Baki’s shareholding scandal.
