Case against Umno leader Zahid Hamidi is weak

The Charges of breach of trust (CBT) against Ahmad Zahid Hamidi are not strong and the accused should be given immunity for disclosing information to the Malaysian Anti -Corruption Commission (MACC), the defence counsel told the High Court yesterday.

The counsel Zahid, Hisyam Teh Poh Teik presented the matter to Kuala Lumpur High Court judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah at the end of Zahid’s corruption prosecution case involving Akalbudi Foundation funds.

At the start of the case against Zahid, the prosecution had said among others that it would prove that Zahid had embezzled RM31 million of Yayasan Akalbudi’s funds and not a sen of the money was used for the benefit of the poor.
