Selangor PAS Youth Election Director, Kamarul Jamaluddin, recently claimed that replacing Selangor’s Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, would solve the state’s flooding issues. However, this statement was criticized as political rhetoric by Datuk Hazmimi Johar, KEADILAN Gombak Information Chief. Hazmimi argued that the floods were caused by seasonal monsoon changes and global climate change, factors beyond local government control. He also pointed out that states governed by PAS, like Kelantan and Terengganu, have faced similar flooding problems. Hazmimi suggested that, by Kamarul’s logic, PAS Menteri Besar should also resign for their inability to manage floods effectively.
