On the North South Expressway near here, a married couple was killed when their car swerved to the side of the road and crashed into a road sign post, police said adding that it happened on Thursday (September 1) at around 12.35 a.m.
The couple, Tsia Kwai Weng, 61, and Hooi Lai Kwean, 53, both from Puncak Tambun Indah in Ipoh were identified as the deceased by Kampar OCPD Superintendent Mohamad Nazri Daud.
“The driver, Tsia, was found seriously injured and was rushed to Ipoh’s Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital emergency unit.” “Hooi, the passenger, died on the spot.” “We received a report from the hospital around 5.40 a.m.”
