The High Court has ordered former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to enter his defence on 25 charges of abuse of power and money laundering related to 1MDB funds. Umno President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi noted that this decision allows Najib an opportunity to defend himself, emphasizing that it does not imply guilt. Zahid expressed Umno and Barisan Nasional’s support for Najib, affirming their belief in his innocence and their commitment to ensuring justice. Najib, 71, faces four charges of abusing his position for RM2.3 billion in bribes and 21 charges of money laundering involving the same sum.
