The American CDC says patients who were hit by the COVID-19 virus and who received double vaccines can develop immunity against the virus for at least six months.
Last week, a study released by the CDC—which analyzed about 7,000 people across 187 hospitals in nine US states—discovered that vaccines protect against hospitalization over a previous infection.
“We now have additional evidence that reaffirms the importance of COVID-19 vaccines, even if you have had prior infection,” CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said in a statement after the study was released.
“This study adds more to the body of knowledge demonstrating the protection of vaccines against severe disease from COVID-19.”
