Customs Records Highest Post-Pandemic Revenue of RM65.57 Billion

The Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM) recorded its highest post-pandemic revenue collection of RM65.57 billion in 2024, surpassing the Finance Ministry’s projection of RM61.17 billion. This marks an 18.85% increase from RM55.17 billion in 2023.

Customs director-general Datuk Anis Rizana Mohd Zainudin attributed the success to enhanced enforcement, tax compliance, and digitalization initiatives.

The 2024 revenue target is RM67.25 billion. Additionally, JKDM thwarted 7,215 smuggling attempts, seizing goods worth RM1.644 billion. Main commodities seized included cigarettes, liquor, currency, and vehicle spare parts.
