A social media post has sparked debate after a user highlighted a promotional Sahur set offered by a local restaurant. According to the post, the set was originally priced at RM74 but was offered at a promotional price of RM34.90 during the fasting month, leading some users to question the initial pricing.
Restaurant’s Sahur Promotion Sparks Price Debate Online
The promotional set reportedly includes two burgers, fries and drinks, marketed as a limited-time Sahur deal. Some netizens argued that the discounted price appeared reasonable, but questioned whether the original RM74 price reflected the normal menu rate or was simply used to highlight the promotion.
Others compared the price with similar meals from other fast-food outlets, with some saying the promotion still offered decent value while others felt the initial pricing made the discount appear more dramatic.
However, sometimes in lieu of lower sales during day time in Ramadan, eateries may offer lower prices at a loss in order to not waste their materials.
