A 20-year-old student, Maniishapriet Kaur Akhara, was found dead at a condominium in Cyberjaya on June 24, prompting a murder investigation.

On July 10, a 19-year-old couple, M. Sri Darvien and his girlfriend D. Thineswary, were charged at the Sepang Magistrate’s Court with murder and abetment, respectively. The murder allegedly occurred between 9:11 PM and 11:31 PM on June 23. 

Sri Darvien faces charges under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty or long-term imprisonment. No plea was recorded, and bail was denied. The case mentioned is set for September 11, pending forensic reports.
