Rumors of a cabinet reshuffle resurfaced after DAP’s recent elections. Former Bangi MP Ong Kian Ming suggested that DAP might replace ministers and deputies in December when Trade Minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz’s senatorial term ends. Despite DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke dismissing any impact from the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) elections, Ong highlighted a “generational change” theme. He specifically named M Kulasegaran, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, and Lim Hui Ying, Deputy Finance Minister, as potentially losing their posts. Kulasegaran stepped aside for younger leaders, while Lim lost her CEC seat, with Ong noting her unproven capability in a Malaysiakini podcast.
