DAP has condemned UMNO Youth chief Dr Akmal Salleh for leading a march outside a Kepala Batas hardware shop despite police warnings. The protest concerned a Jalur Gemilang displayed upside-down, which the 59-year-old shop owner said was an accident and had already apologised for.

DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke called the act bullying and a challenge to the rule of law, saying it caused unease and disrupted businesses. DAP Socialist Youth will lodge police reports under several Penal Code sections for intimidation and public mischief. Police had urged both Umno Youth and DAP to cancel gatherings to avoid clashes between opposing groups.
