DAP Urges UMNO Members to Focus on Unity and Leave the Past Behind

1 min read

Anthony Loke, the Secretary-General of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), has called on UMNO members to let go of past issues and focus on moving forward with the unity government.

DAP and UMNO to forge a new relationship

Responding to UMNO Youth’s demand for a public apology from DAP, Loke agreed with UMNO President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s statement that the matter had already been resolved during the formation of the central government and should not be brought up again. Loke emphasized the need to leave behind political disputes and animosity, highlighting the successful functioning of the government and the absence of party discrepancies.

He urged all members of the unity government to cooperate and face upcoming challenges, such as state elections and economic development, with a shared commitment to working together. Loke also acknowledged different opinions but stressed the importance of the leaders’ clear understanding and unity within the party.
