Road safety activist Hisham Shafie has called on the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to include logistics and delivery companies in its crackdown on commercial vehicles driven by foreigners. He urged continuous enforcement in collaboration with immigration and police, warning that employers prioritizing profit over legal compliance must face stern action. JPJ recently announced it will confiscate vehicles of companies that hire foreign drivers, emphasizing that current laws prohibit foreigners from holding vocational licences. The department noted a rise in companies employing foreign drivers for around RM2,500 monthly, and warned that violators could face court-forfeiture of their commercial vehicles.
