After 35 years of serving the nation, health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah is ready to retire this month. He said he is eager to enjoy more family time after he leaves his post on April 21, the date he turns 60 and the compulsory retirement age for public servants.

Netizens are sympathetic towards the director-general as he helped our nation immensely during the Covid-19 crisis. However, there are some that state he needs to stay a little longer in order to properly train his deputy before they take over.
Unfortunately, there are some hate comments directed towards him. Netizens claim that he was a PN “macai” and that he did not stop the fooleries that PN did (breaking the quarantine rules, etc). Others are accusing him of “profiteering” during the Covid-19 pandemic, however, this statement has no basis and is not a proven fact.
