The decline of luxury fashion has become evident in recent years. Some brands are relying on popular collaborations, while others have discreetly or openly reduced prices due to decreasing customer demand.

A well established fashion YouTuber Super Dacob addressed this phenomenon as early as 2017 (possibly earlier), even before it became a widely discussed topic. Since then, other YouTubers and TikTokers have spoken out about these brands’ alleged decline. Customers have also uploaded countless videos showing their “luxury” bags falling apart after several uses.

The bank maintains a “buy” rating, forecasting a slight improvement in sales. Dior’s revenues have surged but now face challenges.
HSBC suggests new collections for better value and applauds recent leadership changes. The report also notes LVMH’s exposure to the U.S. market and potential leadership transitions within the Arnault family.
Concerns from fashion lovers
Jarrod Jenkins, a prominent fashion TikToker, alleges that Dior has excessively high prices and is delivering peculiar pieces to their customers. He also questions the brand for creating “horrible-looking” pieces with prices that “make no sense.”
Most fashion lovers are concerned with this trend as the brands they love and cherish appear to be taking a different route than they did 10 years ago.
Another prominent TikToker @basicela did a comparison between her Dior handbag and Hermes handbag. The quality difference is rather shocking. She adds that some people say her expectations are “too high.” However, when paying thousands of dollars for a small bag made out of leather, a material that is not too expensive, it should be high.
It is unclear what path these brands should take as customers become increasingly vocal about their dissatisfaction. If an item is “flawed,” it can take months for the customer to get a replacement, and even then, the replacement may not meet their expectations.
