Director Syamsul Yusof, aged 39, has agreed to finalise his divorce from his first wife, Puteri Sarah Liyana, aged 38, on April 18th. The confirmation came from Puteri Sarah’s Syariah lawyer, Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kadir, after the second mention hearing of the Peace Committee (JKP) report at the Federal Territories Shariah Lower Court.
Syamsul Yusof’s divorce
The couple has peacefully resolved their marital issues, with a new date set to finalise the agreement, which also involves child custody. Syamsul Yusof and his lawyer, Azmi Mohd Rais, attended the court hearing together.
Puteri Sarah had refused to meet Syamsul during the reconciliation session through the JKP process on March 24th. The divorce request was made in January after a four-year-long marriage crisis. Both parties believe that the divorce is for the good of the children. The talak will be recorded in both the Lower and High Court.
