PETALING JAYA: The Petaling Jaya Coffeeshop Association warns that forcing food operators to use commercial LPG, priced at RM70 per cylinder compared to RM26 for subsidised ones, could raise food prices, like a bowl of noodles by over RM1. President Keu Kok Meng said this could reduce customer turnout, hurting businesses. The association opposes the Ops Gasak enforcement, which targets subsidised LPG misuse, and seeks clarity on permits allowing three subsidised cylinders. MCA’s Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong urges assurances for hawkers to maintain subsidised LPG use to keep food prices stable. – Photo: Facebook
