Subang Jaya, April 04, 2025 – An elderly woman, Ramlah Harun, 60, and 11 family members, including five young grandchildren, narrowly escaped death by leaping into the Klang River during a gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights yesterday. The blaze, near Jalan Putra Harmoni, sent flames soaring near their Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru home, just 200 meters away. Trapped in a car amid unbearable heat, they abandoned it and jumped into the river, drifting 1.5km to safety over four hours. A Pakistani resident aided their rescue. Ramlah and others sustained injuries and are awaiting medical checks, as their home’s fate remains unclear.
