KLUANG – A plantation fire has destroyed four hectares of oil palm and five hectares of pineapple crops at Peninsular Plantation Sdn Bhd in Simpang Renggam since Friday. Johor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Zone 3 chief Siti Hajar Sanusi said the blaze was first reported at 8.34pm, with firefighting efforts beginning the next morning.

Six firefighters, volunteer brigades, and plantation workers joined forces, using water spraying and trenching to contain the flames.
