Former Editor Injured in Shah Alam House Fire

An 84-year-old former newspaper editor, Zubaidah Abdul Rahman, suffered second-degree burns after her home in Seksyen 3, Shah Alam, caught fire on Friday night. Her son, Iskandar Muda Zainuddin, 55, sustained burns to his hands while trying to escape.

Former Editor Injured

The blaze, believed to have been caused by a short circuit, broke out around 7pm as the family prepared to break fast. Selangor Fire and Rescue Department deployed 22 personnel from Shah Alam and Bukit Jelutong stations. Two double-storey terrace houses were damaged, with one destroyed by 90% and the other by 50%. A vehicle was also lost in the fire.
