Television personality Calum Best has heartbreakingly announced that his mother, Angie Best — first wife of football legend George Best — has been diagnosed with colon cancer that has spread to her liver. The 73-year-old received the news several weeks ago, Calum revealed in a moving Instagram video posted on Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Despite Angie’s lifelong commitment to health, fitness, and wellbeing, Calum stressed that cancer “doesn’t discriminate.” Overwhelmed by the emotional toll, he has launched a GoFundMe campaign to fund specialist treatment and care, admitting he cannot cover the costs alone.
