The floor price rise may increase rice prices for consumers, but the government will subsidize costs to prevent price hikes. An additional RM150 million will support this effort over six months. The current floor price is RM1,300 per metric tonne, but farmers demand RM1,800. Anwar criticized the opposition for not raising the floor price when in power.
