New: Helicopter Explodes During Engine Test at Subang Airport

A helicopter exploded and caught fire during an engine test at Subang Airport on Saturday, leaving one person injured. The incident occurred shortly after the aircraft had undergone repair work and was preparing for a test flight.

Authorities confirmed that four Ukrainian nationals on board—including the pilot, co-pilot, and crew—managed to escape unharmed. Another individual outside the aircraft sustained injuries after being struck by debris.

Helicopter Explodes

The Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM) Selangor reported receiving an emergency call at 12.30 p.m. A team of five personnel from the Bukit Jelutong Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the site, located about three kilometers away.

Upon arrival, responders found the Kamov KA-32 helicopter, registered in Ukraine, fully engulfed in flames. Fire suppression efforts were carried out jointly by airport rescue services and JBPM teams, successfully bringing the blaze under control.
