MCMC has summoned Tamrim, the administrator of a controversial Facebook group, “Rumah Ibadat Haram Dibina Dimana Hari Ini?” (Where Are Illegal Temples Being Built Today?). The group encourages members to report allegedly illegal temples by sharing coordinates and photos, verified through the MyLOT app, and lodging complaints via official channels with the hashtag #1hari1report. Preacher Firdaus Wong publicized the summons, issued under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, calling for legal assistance for Tamrim, who must appear at the MCMC office in Cyberjaya by 8pm on March 28, 2025. The investigation’s purpose remains unclear.
