Those detained included guards, workers and patrons of the premises, among them four Bangladeshi nationals, according to Dang Wangi district police chief ACP Ahmad Azwan Amin Nordin.
Jalan Sultan Ismail raid at 2.30am
In a statement issued on Sunday, Ahmad Azwan said the operation began at about 2.30am. He said police moved in after receiving information that the outlet was linked to drug abuse.
Everyone picked up at the premises was taken to the Dang Wangi district police headquarters for documentation and urine screening.
Police did not say in the statement how many of those detained tested positive for drugs, and no charges have been announced.
Eight held in drug-linked raid
In a separate operation about half an hour earlier, at around 2am on Sunday, police raided another unlicensed entertainment outlet on Jalan Tun Razak and arrested eight men.
Wangsa Maju district police chief ACP Annas Sulaiman said the raid, carried out under Op Noda, involved officers from Bukit Aman’s Anti-Vice, Gambling and Secret Societies Division (D7) and the Wangsa Maju district Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department.
The men, aged between 21 and 40, included six foreigners. Two were from Bangladesh and two from Myanmar, all four allegedly without valid travel documents, while the other two were Chinese nationals.
Police seized two Pioneer DJ multi-players, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, four bottles of assorted liquor and business sales receipts, with a total estimated value of more than RM2,100.

According to Bernama, the Jalan Tun Razak case is being investigated under Section 4(1) of the Federal Territory Entertainment Act, Sections 6(1)(c) and 39(b) of the Immigration Act 1959/63, Regulation 25 of the National Registration Regulations 1990 and Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing public servants.
