Some Users Upset for Japanese Signboards in KL Sentral Thinking its Mandarin

A recent Facebook post claims that the lack of Malay signboards in KL Sentral, our main national railway station, is ending our culture. They seemingly allege that it’s in lieu of the character signboards in the station.

Additionally, an X user pointed out the fact that the signs are Japanese, and this is due to an article written about the station in 2001. The user adds that PMX was not our Prime Minister back then, rather former PM, Tun Dr Mahathir. 

Others state that opposition supporters should stop spreading misinformation such as this. They add that it is shocking that some can’t differentiate between Mandarin and Japanese.

Regardless, having the ability to understand several language is a plus point for an individual. Having prejudice towards other languages may hinder progress in a nation.
