Police also called for the Chinese nationals who waved the flags to be presented. Now, the Malaysian International Guan Gong Cultural Festival 2024 in Johor Bahru is under scrutiny. Perikatan Nasional activist Salim Iskandar criticised the event for displaying China flags.
However, many pointed out that it is an international event, making it normal to have other countries’ flags present. Comparisons were made to the display of Palestine flags in Malaysia.
