The Johor state government will regularize factories operating illegally in Kulai to control pollution, carbon emissions, and river waste discharge, according to Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor, State Housing and Local Government Committee chairman.

He noted two illegal tyre processing factories were shut down and urged the public to report any illegal operations. Enforcement actions led to the closure of 11 foreign-operated businesses. Additionally, the installation of 1,500 AI-powered Smart CCTVs across four local authority districts is expected to be completed by 2026, with 995 already installed.
