KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 — The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has seized 258 high-end vehicles, including Ferraris, Porsches, and Ford Mustangs, for offences such as expired road tax and insurance during its Op Luxury crackdown. Conducted in three phases since June, the latest round from Thursday to Saturday saw 104 vehicles impounded, with Kuala Lumpur recording the most seizures. JPJ also issued 619 summonses for various road offences. Some vehicles had expired road tax dating back to 2022. JPJ vowed stricter enforcement and will propose legal amendments to the Transport Ministry, citing over 1,000 luxury cars nationwide with long-overdue tax renewals.
