KUALA LUMPUR, March 12, 2025 – The High Court here has scheduled July 31, 2025, to hear a Mareva injunction filed by 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and 10 affiliated companies against Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. The injunction aims to block Rosmah from disposing of assets worth over US$346 million (RM1.6 billion), allegedly amassed through the misappropriation of 1MDB funds.

The plaintiffs, including 1MDB and subsidiaries like 1MDB Energy Holdings and SRC International, claim Rosmah used diverted funds to purchase luxury goods, now in her possession. Alongside co-defendant Shabnam Naraindas Daswani (aka Natasha Mirpuri), Rosmah faces a lawsuit filed on May 9, 2024, demanding repayment of US$346 million or a court-assessed sum. The case underscores 1MDB’s aggressive pursuit to reclaim assets linked to one of Malaysia’s biggest financial scandals, spotlighting Rosmah’s extravagant wealth as a key target. How will Rosmah get away from this now?
