It must have been a full-blown oops moment at KLIA yesterday, when heavy rain and a forgotten piece of plywood teamed up to turn Terminal 1 into a surprise indoor waterfall. A contractor, rushing off the roof amid lightning, left drainage covers in place — and the airport paid the price in litres.

Water poured through the ceiling, passengers filmed everything, and the internet did the rest. KLIA called the procedural lapse “unacceptable” and is now tightening weather checks and work protocols to avoid any encore performances.
