BAC 2026: Malaysian Mixed Doubles Advance

Malaysia’s mixed doubles campaign at the Badminton Asia Championships 2026 began strongly, with three pairs advancing to the second round in Ningbo, China. World champions Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei, seeded fourth, defeated Japan’s Haruki Kawabe-Kokona Ishikawa 21-10, 21-19 in just 36 minutes.

Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie also progressed after overcoming India’s Rohan Kapoor-Gadde Ruthvika Shivani 21-13, 21-19. Independent duo Wong Tien Ci-Lim Chiew Sen joined them by beating India’s Ashith Surya-Amrutha Pramuthesh 21-16, 21-15. Wong and Lim now face sixth seeds Guo Xin Wa-Chen Fang Hui of China, while the other pairs await their next opponents.
