Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB), our national railway company has recently stated that they’ll keep their name as is. A former editor suggested that the railway company should change its name to something that reflects our new Malaysian identity. But, social media users are proud of our railway name as is.

Netizens argued that changing the logo could not only lead to the loss of the country’s history and heritage but also impose significant costs, as retrofitting trains, platforms, and other branding elements might cost the railway company millions of dollars.
Others state that the best way for the railway company to stay relevant is to continue upgrading their stations and rolling stock as they’re currently doing. Changing the name would only represent a false facade.
