Illegal Dildos

The Thai Democrat Party promises to legalize sex toys to attract voters before the upcoming general election. Although Thailand has a sexually liberal reputation, the use of intimate devices such as vibrators and dildos is still considered illegal in the predominantly Buddhist country.

Sex Toys Potential

The party asserts that the legalization of vibrators could potentially reduce sex-related crimes, prostitution, and divorce rates, while providing the government with an opportunity to generate tax revenue from their legal import.

Currently, the sale of such toys can result in a maximum sentence of three years in prison or a fine of up to US$1,800, even though they are still readily available on the streets of Bangkok.
