Italy crowned champions of Europe after a nail-biting penalty shootout win over England at Wembley Stadium. The tournament started with Italy, it ends with Italy winning it.
England’s young players faltered in the last moment with their penalty shootout. Marcus Rashford was the first to miss his shot. Tricking the Italian goalkeeper to go to the right, he sent the ball to the left. But it went wide of the goal. Agonising.
Harry Maguire puts England up 2-1 on penalties after a successful Harry Kane shot equalising Domenico Berardi’s penalty.
Andrea Belotti missed his shot, but Leonardo Bonucci equalised for Italy. After the Rashford miss, Jordan Sancho and Bukayo Saka also missed their shots. Jorginho missed the last penalty for Italy, but when Saka missed his shot, Italy won the cup!

For some, it was quite a poor shoot-out, with Italy missing two and England missing their last three.

England started the match with a goal from Luke Shaw in the 2nd minute. Italy equalised in the 67th minute by Leonardo Benucci.
