PUTRAJAYA – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has released on bail a director-general and a director of a government agency remanded over alleged misappropriation of RM900,000. Both men, in their 50s, were freed last week after their statements were recorded.

They are suspected of abusing financial allocations for personal gain and submitting false claims worth RM60,000 for an umrah trip while on official duty in Jeddah. MACC deputy chief commissioner Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya confirmed the case, saying 18 witnesses have been interviewed. Items worth RM57,000, including gadgets and sports equipment, were seized during investigations.
