PUTRAJAYA – Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad announced the formation of the Malay Secretariat, a new initiative aimed at uniting all groups advocating for Malay rights under one umbrella. Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Mahathir emphasized that the secretariat is not a political party but a movement to consolidate efforts for the Malay community. “Too many groups claiming to unite Malays have caused division and failure,” he said. The secretariat welcomes all Malays, including members of other political parties, as long as they align with the goal of advancing Malay interests, transcending political boundaries.
