Malaysia has been chosen to host the 34th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in 2027, according to the Malaysian Olympic Council.
The council today announced on its verified Facebook page that the Southeast Asian Games Federation has “unanimously awarded” Malaysia the hosting of the 2027 Games. The country will host the Games for the second time in a decade, having last done so in Kuala Lumpur in 2017.
It was reported last year that Brunei had withdrawn from hosting the SEA Games in 2027, with Malaysia expressing interest in taking over.
