A devastating 10-1 defeat saw World No. 12 Malaysia utterly outclassed by World No. 5 Germany in a test match at the Glabach Hockey and Tennis Club in Germany on Sunday. This marks Malaysia’s worst defeat in recent years.
Malaysian hockey team
Germany dominated the Speedy Tigers with goals in the 10th, 14th, 25th, 29th, 30th, 34th, 42nd, 50th, 53rd, and 59th minutes. Malaysia’s only response came from Fitri Saari, who scored a penalty corner goal in the 47th minute. Malaysia may only be competitive against European B teams, as evidenced by their recent matches against Belgium B, where they won twice 3-2 and lost once 4-2 in three friendly encounters.
